At Dings N Things, we're a family-owned and operated business with a rich history in the auto body repair industry. Our owner, Greg "TC" Mertz, is a second-generation body man who learned the trade from his father, Carl Mertz. Carl ran multiple body shops across the United States and passed on his knowledge and passion to his son.

Skyler is recently joined our team after serving the United States Army and now working part-time with Dings N Things while attending MSU.

Our founder, Greg Mertz, opened Mertz and Sons in 1977, later renaming it Top Craft Bodyworks. He's been running a body shop in Springfield ever since and in 1990, the business moved to its current location at 1906 S. Stewart and rebranded as Dings N Things Specialty Body Works.
